ClosetMe Terms of Service
Published 2026-10-07 · Effective 2026-11-07
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the ClosetMe mobile app and the website closetme.app (together, the "Service") provided by Jiwoong Lee (the "Operator"), and the rights, obligations and responsibilities of the Operator and users.
Article 2 (Definitions)
- "User" means anyone who uses the Service under these Terms, including members and guests.
- "Member" means a user who has created an account by signing in with Google or Apple.
- "Guest" means a user who uses the Service without an account.
- "Guest records" means wardrobe, outfit, calendar and other records and photos created by a guest; they are stored only on the user's device.
- "Account records" means records created while a member is signed in; the original is on the Operator's server and a copy is kept on the device.
- "Device-only records" means original clothing photos, inspiration photos and the notification inbox, which stay on the device and are never sent to the Operator's server, whether or not the user is signed in.
- "Posts" means photos, captions and comments a member publishes to the community, together with any information the member chooses to publish with them.
- "Ads" means content the Operator places on Service screens to promote an advertiser's products or services.
Article 3 (Operator Information and Posting of the Terms)
- Operator: Jiwoong Lee · Contact: eziongbus@gmail.com · Website: https://closetme.app
- The Operator posts these Terms on the website and in the app's settings and sign-in screen so that users can read them at any time.
- The Operator emails a copy of these Terms on request.
Article 4 (Changes to the Terms)
- The Operator may amend these Terms within the limits of applicable law, including the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions.
- The Operator announces any amendment on the website and in the app, with the effective date and the reason, from 7 days before the effective date. Amendments unfavorable to users are announced from 30 days before the effective date.
- Because the Operator does not keep users' email addresses, individual notices to members are replaced by posting a revision notice at the top of the Terms and Privacy Policy pages on the website and in the app; if an individual notice feature is introduced, that method will be added (Article 19).
- If you continue to use the Service after the effective date, the revised Terms apply; if you do not agree, you may delete your account before the effective date.
Article 5 (Formation of the Agreement and Age Requirement)
- These Terms apply to guests from the time they install and start using the app. Account-related provisions do not apply to guests, because the Operator does not receive guest records.
- A membership agreement is formed when the user agrees to these Terms on the sign-in screen and completes Google or Apple sign-in, and the Operator creates the account.
- Children under 14 may not become members. By agreeing to these Terms on the sign-in screen, the user confirms being 14 or older. If the Operator learns that a child under 14 has created an account, the Operator suspends the account and deletes the account and its records without delay.
- Records of features used without signing in are stored only on the user's device.
Article 6 (The Service)
- The Operator provides: a wardrobe record (photograph or pick clothing photos and remove backgrounds on the device); outfit, calendar and trip records; weather guidance when location permission is granted; product link import and an in-app shop browser (Article 13); a community where members publish outfits and like, save, comment on, follow, report and block; a magazine made by the Operator; notifications and data export.
- The wardrobe, outfits and calendar work without an account. Guest records, including photos, stay only on the device and are not sent to the Operator's server, so they are lost if the app is deleted or the device is changed.
- Members' account records are kept in private storage on the Operator's server and can be viewed on other devices after signing in with the same account. Device-only records are not on the server and do not move to a new device. Saving or editing account records requires an internet connection.
- When a user signs in on a device with guest records, the app asks whether to move them to the account and moves them only if the user agrees. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
- Weather, outfit guidance and the body silhouette and length preview are reference information based on the values the user enters and external data.
Article 7 (Fees)
- The Service is free. There is no limit on the number of clothes or outfits or on photo storage in an account.
- If the Operator introduces paid services, it will announce their scope and price in advance and will not make any existing free feature paid without the user's consent.
Article 8 (Ads)
- The Operator may place ads on Service screens.
- Ads show an "Ad" label (in the language of the app) and the advertiser's name so that they are distinguishable from posts.
- The Operator does not use users' photos, wardrobe, outfit, calendar or body records, or app usage records, to choose ads, and does not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA/AAID).
- Tapping an ad opens the advertiser's website in the device's browser. Any transaction for the advertised product or service is between the user and the advertiser; the Operator is not a party to it. The Operator reviews ad materials before placing them and stops ads that users report if they violate the law or the Operator's standards.
- Users can report an ad or hide it from the ad menu.
- The Operator does not run rewarded ads that grant features or benefits in exchange for watching ads.
- The Operator does not send promotional push notifications without the user's separate consent.
Article 9 (Accounts)
- Accounts can be created only with Google or Apple sign-in. The Operator does not receive or store passwords.
- The Operator does not store email addresses; it keeps only a hash to detect duplicate accounts.
- An account may be used only by the person who created it. Members must keep their Google or Apple account and device from being used by others; members bear losses from failing to do so unless the Operator is at fault.
- Members may edit their public profile (nickname, handle, bio) at any time but may not use names that impersonate others or mislead.
Article 10 (User Obligations and Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not: (1) post photos or text that infringe others' copyright, trademark, portrait or other rights; (2) publish photos showing another person's face or another person's personal information without consent; (3) post obscene or violent content, content promoting hatred or discrimination, or content harmful to minors; (4) post illegal information prohibited by Article 44-7 of the Network Act; (5) impersonate others or use or access others' accounts without authorization; (6) post commercial advertising in posts or comments without the Operator's consent; (7) send abnormal volumes of automated requests or interfere with the Service or its servers; (8) modify or reverse-engineer the app to interfere with the Service, or harvest other users' information; (9) use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
Article 11 (Rights in Posts and Records)
- Users own the rights to the photos, text and records they add to the Service.
- The Operator processes account records for providing the Service, customer support and safe operation, including storing, delivering and deleting them. The Operator does not show account-record photos to other users, use them for advertising or promotion, sell or provide them to third parties, or use them to train machine-learning models. Guests' wardrobe, outfit and calendar records and photos, and device-only records, never reach the Operator's server. Optional app-usage analytics a user separately consents to is handled under the Privacy Policy.
- By publishing a post, a member grants the Operator a free, non-exclusive permission to use it to the extent needed to show it to other users within the Service (storing it, resizing it, generating thumbnails, and displaying it in feeds, profiles and community rooms). This permission does not extend to promotion or advertising outside the Service; the Operator will obtain the member's separate consent for any such use.
- When a member deletes a post or the account, this permission ends and the post is no longer shown to other users. Server copies are deleted within the periods in the Privacy Policy.
- Item photos and body information are published with a post only if the member turns on each option just before posting.
- Background removal for clothing photos runs on the user's device; photos are not sent to the server for it.
Article 12 (Moderation of Posts)
- Public posts may be reviewed by the Operator before or after they become visible.
- The Operator may hide or delete a post it determines violates Article 10 or the law. If a post is held or rejected at the time of posting, the app shows this immediately. When the Operator hides or deletes a post, it shows the author that fact and the reason on the post's screen in the latest version of the app, and also tells members who have notifications turned on by app notification. An author using an earlier version of the app or unable to receive notifications can confirm the action and its reason through the contact in Article 3. The author may object through the contact in Article 3, and the Operator will reply with the result of its review within 14 days of receiving the objection.
- A person whose rights (such as privacy or reputation) are infringed by a post may request its removal through the report function or the contact in Article 3. Under Article 44-2 of the Network Act, the Operator promptly takes necessary measures such as removal or a temporary block. If infringement is unclear or disputed, the Operator may hide the post for up to 30 days. A requester who wrote to the contact address is told the result by reply to that email; a request made with the report function is confirmed in the app immediately. The Operator promptly tells the poster that it removed or temporarily blocked the post, and why, in the way described in paragraph 2, and the poster may object through the contact in Article 3. Information about the person who reported is not disclosed.
- Users can report posts and comments and block members to stop seeing their posts and activity.
- The Operator reviews reports and takes necessary action, and does not reveal the reporter to the reported user. If three different members report the same post, it is hidden automatically before the Operator reviews it; the Operator then reviews it and restores it or keeps it hidden, and tells the author in the way described in paragraph 2. This automatic hiding applies from November 7, 2026.
Article 13 (Shop Browser and External Links)
- Shop pages opened in the in-app browser are provided by those shops. The Operator is not the seller or a party to any transaction, is not responsible for product information, price, stock or delivery, and does not partner with or endorse shops.
- Login details users enter on a shop are not sent to the Operator's server. The app does not read that browser's cookies, storage, inputs or page text. When the user taps [Pick photos], the app reads only image addresses and the product name and brand published by the open page and shows them to the user. The device downloads the chosen photos directly; image addresses are not sent to the Operator's server. Otherwise the app takes only the screen image and the address-bar URL at the moment the user taps "Add".
- Photos taken from shops may be used only for the user's own wardrobe records. The app does not publish a shop photo as an item photo in a public post while the item still has its product link. If the link was removed or not saved, the app cannot tell that the photo came from a shop, so the user must decide whether to publish it and must not publish photos that infringe others' rights (Article 10).
- When a user adds a product link, the Operator's server reads only the page's public information (product name, main image, price). Sellers or rights holders may ask the Operator, through the contact in Article 3, to stop displaying it, and the Operator will exclude that domain.
- External links and ads open in the device's browser, and their use is governed by those sites' terms and privacy policies.
Article 14 (Changes to and Suspension of the Service)
- The Operator may change the Service and will announce changes unfavorable to users in the same way as in Article 4.
- The Operator may suspend all or part of the Service temporarily for maintenance, failures, natural disasters, outages of external services or other unavoidable reasons. Planned suspensions are announced in advance; unforeseeable ones afterward.
- Records on the device are not lost when the server is down. Guests can keep using record features without the server; members can view the copy on the device but cannot save or edit.
- If the Operator ends the Service, it will announce this at least 30 days before the end date and provide a period for users to export their data. Export builds the file on the device without going through the server; account-record photos not on the device are downloaded while the server is running.
Article 15 (Account Deletion, Restrictions and Termination)
- Members can delete their account in the app's settings at any time. On request, the account is immediately marked deleted, all sign-in tokens are revoked, the device's notification registration is removed, and posts stop being shown to other users. The app deletes the account records on that device (including device-only records moved into the account) but keeps guest records. Members can export their data before confirming.
- Thirty days after deletion, the Operator deletes the remaining account data on the server. During those 30 days the same sign-in method cannot be used to sign up again; signing in after 30 days creates a new account and previous data is not restored. Records the law requires to be kept are handled under the Privacy Policy.
- If a member violates Article 10, the Operator may, depending on the severity, hide or delete posts, restrict community features, suspend the account, or terminate the agreement. Because the Operator does not keep members' email addresses or other contact details, it gives the reason and an opportunity to respond as follows.
- A restricted account has its sign-in and account requests refused in the app, and the latest version of the app shows the reason for the restriction and the contact address on that screen. Members who have notifications turned on are also told by app notification. A member using an earlier version of the app or unable to receive notifications can confirm the restriction and its reason through the contact in Article 3.
- The member may ask for the specific reason and respond through the contact in Article 3; the Operator gives the reason within 7 days of receiving the request.
- Before terminating the agreement, the Operator suspends the account and allows a response period of at least 7 days from the suspension. It decides on termination after reviewing any response received in that period.
- For distribution of illegal information, serious infringement of others' rights, or urgent protection of the Service, the Operator may hide or delete posts or suspend the account first, and the reason and response are handled afterwards in the same way.
- A member may object to a measure under paragraph 3 within 30 days of learning of it through the contact in Article 3; the Operator will reply with the result within 14 days of receiving the objection.
- The scope of deletions other than account deletion (such as data deletion or sign-out) follows the Privacy Policy.
Article 16 (Operator Obligations)
- The Operator complies with applicable law and these Terms and strives to provide the Service reliably.
- The Operator takes security measures to protect personal information and publishes and follows the Privacy Policy.
- The Operator handles user opinions and complaints it finds justified and reports the result.
Article 17 (Limitation of Liability)
- The Operator is not liable for losses caused by natural disasters, failure or loss of the user's device, or the user's own fault, unless the Operator is at fault through intent or negligence.
- Guest records and device-only records are not on the Operator's server, so the Operator cannot restore them if the device is lost or the app is deleted.
- The Operator is not liable for the content of external services it does not control, such as shops, advertisers or weather providers, or for transactions made there, unless the Operator is at fault through intent or negligence.
- The Operator has no duty to intervene in disputes between users or between users and third parties arising through the Service and is not liable for resulting losses, unless the Operator is at fault through intent or negligence.
- Weather, outfit guidance and the body silhouette and length preview are reference information and may differ from actual weather or fit.
Article 18 (Privacy)
The personal information the Operator processes, the purposes, retention periods, overseas transfers, and users' rights are governed by the Privacy Policy (https://closetme.app/en/privacy), which can also be read in the app's settings.
Article 19 (Notices)
- Notices to all users are given by posting on the website and in the app.
- The Operator does not keep email addresses and does not give notice by email. Hiding or deleting a post and restricting an account are notified to the individual member on the relevant screen of the latest version of the app and by app notification (if notifications are turned on, regardless of notification type settings); a member using an earlier version of the app or unable to receive notifications can confirm them through the contact in Article 3. Other notices to individual members are replaced by posting a revision notice at the top of the Terms and Privacy Policy pages on the website and in the app.
Article 20 (Dispute Resolution and Jurisdiction)
- The Operator and users will try in good faith to resolve disputes by discussion. Users may apply for mediation to bodies such as the Korea Consumer Agency.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
- Lawsuits between the Operator and users are brought before the court with jurisdiction under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
Addendum
- These Terms take effect on November 7, 2026.
- For users who become members between October 7, 2026 and November 6, 2026, these Terms apply from the time they sign up.
